Financial education across Ireland
cobebuu
We run live webinars that make financial topics genuinely accessible — not simplified to the point of being useless, but explained clearly enough that participants can act on what they learn. From budgeting mechanics to understanding credit, our sessions are built around real questions people actually have.
Started in 2020, built around a specific gap
cobebuu grew out of a straightforward observation: people across Ireland were struggling with the same financial questions but had no consistent, reliable place to get answers. Formal financial advice is expensive and often inaccessible. Free online content is scattered and rarely specific enough to be useful.
We started running structured webinars as an experiment. The response made it clear there was genuine demand — not for motivational content, but for practical sessions where participants could ask real questions and get honest, grounded answers.
Geography has always been part of the problem. Someone in Donegal or Kerry faces the same financial pressures as someone in Dublin, but access to quality financial education has historically been concentrated in urban centres. Live-streamed webinars change that equation entirely — the session quality is identical regardless of where a participant logs in from.
Our sessions are not pre-recorded or self-paced. Every webinar runs live, with a moderator managing questions and an expert walking through material in real time. That format creates accountability on both sides — participants stay engaged, and instructors stay specific.
The people who plan and deliver each session
Our instructors come from working financial backgrounds — accounting, credit analysis, personal finance practice. They are not academics presenting theory; they are practitioners who have dealt with the problems they teach about.
Orlaith designs the curriculum and coordinates each session's structure. She spent eleven years in personal financial planning before moving into education, and that background shapes how every topic gets framed — starting from the participant's situation, not from theory.
Declan leads sessions on budgeting, debt management, and credit. His approach is direct — he works through real examples during the live broadcast rather than presenting slides. Participants consistently say his sessions feel more like a conversation than a lecture.
Sinéad manages participant communication, coordinates with community organisations, and ensures webinar access reaches people who don't typically engage with financial education. She handles the logistics that make geographic reach actually work in practice.
