What we
actually do
Live webinars on financial organisation, taught across Ireland
cobebuu runs structured online sessions for people who want to understand how money works in their day-to-day lives — budgeting, planning, and making sense of financial systems without the jargon. Every session is live, interactive, and led by practitioners who work with real numbers.
Our programme areas
Financial knowledge doesn't arrive in neat categories — it builds through connected understanding. The services below reflect the topics participants consistently ask about, structured so each session stands alone or fits into a longer learning path.
Each area below is delivered as a live broadcast with a Q&A window, downloadable reference materials, and access to a recording for 14 days post-session. Participants from any county in Ireland can attend — the platform is browser-based and requires no installation.
Personal budget planning
Most people know roughly what they earn and roughly what they spend — the gap between those two figures is where most financial stress lives. This programme works through cash-flow mapping, fixed versus variable cost separation, and building a monthly review habit that actually holds. Sessions use worked examples with realistic Irish household figures, not theoretical averages.

Tax basics for employed and self-employed
Irish tax obligations differ significantly depending on employment type, and many people miss deductions simply because they didn't know they existed. This session covers PAYE, preliminary tax, USC, and how to read a Revenue statement without needing an accountant on speed dial. It isn't tax advice — it's the literacy that makes advice easier to act on.
Building an emergency fund from scratch
An emergency fund isn't just a savings target — it's a decision-making buffer that changes how you respond to unexpected costs. The session examines realistic timelines based on different income levels, where to hold the money, and how to avoid raiding it for non-emergencies. Participants leave with a written three-month plan, not a vague intention.
Debt — what the numbers actually mean
Carrying debt is normal; carrying debt without understanding its true cost is expensive. This session works through APR calculations, repayment sequencing strategies, and how to approach lenders when circumstances change. The focus is practical decision-making, not shame or motivation speeches.
Digital tools for everyday financial tracking
Spreadsheets, apps, and bank dashboards all have different strengths — and knowing which tool fits your situation saves time and reduces errors. This session demonstrates several common tracking approaches, compares their limitations honestly, and helps participants choose based on their actual habits rather than the tool with the best marketing.
How sessions are structured
Every cobebuu webinar follows a consistent format so participants know what to expect — a short framing talk, a worked-example block, live Q&A, and a summary handout. The format was developed through feedback from participants across 11 counties since the platform launched in 2020, and it's been adjusted several times based on what actually helps people retain information.
Who attends
Participants range from recent graduates managing their first salary to people in their 50s revisiting retirement planning. Sessions are designed so prior financial knowledge isn't assumed — but they don't talk down to people who already have some.
Location doesn't limit access
Participants have joined from Donegal, Kerry, Roscommon, and everywhere in between. The online format means a person in a rural area gets the same session quality as someone in Dublin — no commute, no venue capacity limit.
Scheduling and booking
Sessions run on a rolling schedule with new dates added each month. Group bookings for organisations or community groups are available — contact us directly to discuss timing and format adjustments for larger cohorts.
